Games Played

Michael, Jim, Dave and Ben played King of New York. Ben won the game with 20 victory points.

Michael, Jim, Dave, Ben and Jeramee played King of New York. Ben won the game by defeating all of the other monsters.

Matt, Michael, Dave and Ben played Dead of Winter. Matt, Michael and Dave were able to win and meet their secret objective. Ben also met his secret objective (one survivor having two wounds), but Matt healed his survivor taking away the win.

Jim (Empire) and Jeramee (Rebels) played Star Wars: Rebellion. The rebels were able to pull off the win.

Matt, Michael, Dave and Ben played Dragon & Flagon. It was a knock-down drag-out brawl, but Ben was able to emerge victorious.

Matt, Michael, Jim, Dave, Ben, Jeramee played Shadows over Camelot. The loyal knights were able to win, and there was no traitor.

Jeramee taught Michael  7 Wonders: Duel and Michael won through science.

BEBGC Meeting Recap 10/01/16

Games Played

Chris, Michael, Dave, Karen, Ben, and Alex started out with Ca$h ‘n Gun$ where Michael was the best gangster, just edging out Karen with $85,000 in loot to her $80,000.

Everyone then tried out the club’s new copy of Captain Sonar. Ben started as the captain of the blue submarine with Scott, Dave and Karen on his crew. Michael led the yellow submarine with Chris and Alex. The first game was played with the turn-based-rules and was closely fought, but the yellow team managed to sink blue. For the second game, Eray joined the crew of the yellow submarine and Alex took his turn in the captains chair. We switched to the chaos of the real time rules and this time blue was victorious. For the final game, Dan stepped in for Dave on the blue team and Chris took his turn as yellow captain. Chris’s rapid fire commands kept blue guessing and yellow was able to find a sink them.

Eray and Dave refought history with 1960: The Making of a President, but history largely repeated itself with Dave winning the election as Kennedy with 308 votes in the electoral college.

Dan, Chris, Scott, and Ben played Kemet with Chris taking the victory with 10 points over Ben’s 9.

Michael taught Viticulture to Karen and Alex and ended up as the most successful vintner at 28 points, but Alex was close behind at 23/

Chris, Michael, Scott, Dave, and Karen finished up with Airlines Europe. Karen was by far the most successful business person, amassing 89 points with Michael in second at 68 and the rest of the table close behind.

BEBGC Meeting Recap 09/17/16

Games Played

Matt, Matt, and Alex played the ‘First Time in the Captain’s Chair’ mission of Firefly with a pile of expansions. Matt Ackerman playing as Jubal in his intercepter was able to cruise to a quick victory.

Chris, Michael and Ben played Kemet. Michael was ahead going into the last few actions when Ben moved against him, taking two points and moving himself to the lead. Michael was able to fight back and reclaim the lead, but Chris had the last action and managed to conquer one of Michael’s temples for a 3 point gain for him and a loss of 2 for Michael, giving Chris the win with 11 and Michael and Ben each with 9.

Matt B, Chris, Michael, Alex, and Ben played a second game of Firefly, this time using the ‘Rims the Thing’ setup and the ‘Any Port in a Storm’ mission. This was quite drawn out when all of a sudden just about everyone was close to completing the goal, but Chris was able to make it back to his haven first with the necessary 12,000 credits.

The club voted to purchase Captain Sonar and a set of DnDeeples for Lords of Waterdeep.

BEBGC Meeting Recap 09/03/16

Games Played

Michael, Jim, Scott, Dave, Karen, and Alex started off with Star Trek Panic. After completing three missions and the Enterprise near destruction, they decided to call it quits.

Eray and Jim played Twilight Struggle where history repeated itself and Jim’s Americans won the cold war.

Chris, Michael, and Scott concentrated just on the space race in Leaving Earth. Michael picked up most of the early points, but Chris was first to the moon and back with samples, giving him a commanding 14 point victory.

Gui, Dave, Karen, and Alex played Castles of Mad King Ludwig. Karen was behind most of the game but during end game scoring dominated the bonus to win with 101 points over Dave with 93 and Alex just behind at 92.

Gui, Scott, Karen, and Alex played three rounds of Speed Scrabble, which Alex dominated, though Karen came quite close to unseating him in the final game.

Gui, Chris, Michael, Scott, Dave, and Karen came back together for a game of 7 Wonders with the Leaders expansion. Dave won with 62 points, followed by Gui with 32 and then Chris and Scott tied with 52.

Chris, Michael, Jim, Scott, Dave, and Karen played three rounds of Coup, where Chris won the first, Jim the second, and Scott the third.

Chris, Michael, Dave, and Karen finished up with a second game of Castles of Mad King Ludwig. Michael was able to align his castle with all of the bonus tiles and achieved a 124 point victory with Dave in second at 100.

BEBGC Meeting Recap 08/20/16

Games Played

Robert, Jim, Dave and Ben played Cuisine a la Card. Ben was the top chef with 17 points, followed by Jim with 14, Dave with 8 and Robert with 3.

Chris, Jim, Dave and Ben played Xia: Legends of a Drift System. Chris was the most successful drifter.

Robert and Alex played Pandemic and lost.

Having lost pandemic, Robert and Alex upped the difficulty level and played Pandemic again, but were once again unsuccessful.

Chris, Robert, Jim, Andrew and Dave played Coup nine times. Dave won 3X, Robert and Chris each won 2X, and Alex and Jim each won once.

Chris, Alex and Dave played BetaBotz, and Chris ran away with the win.

Games Played

Alex J, Dave, Ben, and Alex W started off with Sheriff of Nottingham, where Alex W was the best smuggler, amassing 169 points over Dave with 153 and Alex J just behind at 151.

Michael, Jim, and Scott tried Dragonwood. Scott captured the first dragon, but Michael was able to capture the second putting him over the with 24 points to Scott’s 21.

Michael, Jim, and Scott played one hand of Red7 that Michael won.

Brandan, Ben, and Alex W played Caylus, where Ben won with 86 points and Alex in second with 79.

Phil, McKenna, Aaron, and Alex J played the Switzerland map of Ticket to Ride, with McKenna winning.

Michael, Jim, Scott, and Dave tried out Star Trek Panic. With only three missions completed and two thirds of the enterprise destroyed, they admitted defeat.

Dave, Ben, and Alex W played two rounds of Dominion, with Alex dominating the first game and Dave the second.

Brandan taught Michael, Jim, and Alex J XCOM: The Board Game, where they were badly defeated. Dave replaced Brandan as Central Officer for a second round that went much better for the people of earth.

Dave, Ben, and Alex W finished with Caverna.

BEBGC Meeting Recap 07/16/16

Games Played

Jim and Ben started off with Risk: Star Wars Edition where Jim’s imperial fleet was victorious.

Michael taught Jeramee Star Realms and then won a close game.

Michael, Jim, Ben, and Jeramee played Suburbia. Jim’s well placed commercial buildings gave him a commanding income and the victory with 100 population, ahead of Ben and Michael tied with 94.

Chris and Michael split off to play Star Wars: Rebellion with Chris having his revenge as the imperials and quickly rooting out the hidden rebel base.

Matt, Jim, Ben, and Jeramee had a close game of Power Grid which Ben won with 17 cities powered, just ahead of Jim with 16 and Jeramee with 15.

Chris, Michael, Jim, Ryan, and Ben finished up with Lords of Waterdeep and the Scoundrels of Skullport expansion. Michael’s exclusive completion of commerce quests combined with his lord pushed him to a 156 point victory with Chris in second at 131.

BEBGC Meeting Recap 07/02/16

Games Played

Ben, Karen, Jim and Michael played Primordial Soup. Ben won with 47 points, followed by Karen with 41, Jim with 31 and Michael with 29.

Dave o. and Chris played Jarl: The Vikings Tile-Laying Game. It was a hard fought match, but Dave pulled off the win capturing Chris’ Jarl.

Dave L. (USSR) and Alex (USA) played Twilight Struggle. USSR went out to an early lead, but USA was able to bounce back and win the cold war.

Michael, Ben and Karen played Five Tribes. Michael won with 186 points, followed by Ben with 165 and Karen with 153.

Chris (Agent) went up against Jim, Kerri and Dave O. in Specter Ops. Chris was spotted several times sneaking around, and the hunters had him down to one HP, but Kerri was unveiled as a traitor in cahoots with the agent, and was able to distract the hunters and aid the agent back to safety for the win.

Jim, Brandan, Dave O., Kerri, Dave L., Chris, Michael and Ben played The Resistance: Avalon. Jim, Brandan and Dave O. were successful as the agents of evil and were able to sabotage three missions.

Jim, Brandan, Dave O., Kerri, Dave L., Chris, Michael and Ben played The Resistance: Avalon. This time the knights were successful in completing three of their missions, but Chris, Brandan and Dave O. were able to steal the win as the agents of evil when assassin Dave O. was able to assassinate Merlin (Michael).

Chris, Michael, Jim, Brandon, Dave L., and Kerri played a round of Coup where Chris was the best liar. Karen took over for Dave L. for the second round and won. Dave L. swapped back in and Jim left for the final round where Kerri was victorious.

Chris, Michael, Brandon, and Kerri finished off with a hand of Exploding Kittens with Brandon being the last person unexploded.

BEBGC Meeting Recap 06/18/16

Games Played

Matt, Chris, Dave, Jay and Jeramee played Kingsburg. Final Scores: Chris won with 40 points, followed by Jeramee with 33, Matt with 32, and Dave and Jay tied at 24.

Dave (Free Peoples), Jeramee (Sauron) and Jay (Saruman) played War of the Ring. The shadow armies were spreading quickly across Middle Earth, taking over 7 points worth of cities and strongholds, and with two other strongholds under siege, but the fellowship was able to destroy the one ring at Mount Doom to win the game.

Chris and Michael played scenarios 7, 8, and 9 of BattleLore. In the first game, Michael’s Sir Hugh Calverly used a sneak attack to take the bridge and achieve victory over the forces of Chris’s Sire Arnoul. Chris had his revenge in the second game, where despite Michael’s heavy infantry running rampant through the left flank, Chris’s forces made short work of the rest of the field. In the third match, Chris got off to an early start and defeated Michael’s giant spider, but his goblinoid forces were no match for Michael’s dwarves, and more significantly the luck of the dice which had turned completely against him.

BEBGC Meeting Recap 06/04/16

Games Played

Dave, Karen, Alex, and Elaine played Airlines Europe where Dave amassed 91 million euros over Karen’s second place 83 million.

Michael’s imperial fleet eliminated Jim’s rebellion in  Risk: Star Wars Edition.

Brandan, Michael, Karen, and Elaine played Small World. Michael’s final two rounds with the Wealthy Dwarves pushed him to victory with 100 points with Karen close behind at 92 then Elaine at 90 and Brandan at 86.

Dan and Jim faced off in Rommel at Gazala where Dan’s British forces defeated the Axis.

Eray, Chris, Dave, and Alex played Container with Alex being the best shipper with 119 points, followed by Chris with 101.

Dan and Jim experimented with a variant rule set for Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century.

Brandon, Michael, Dave, and Karen caught Chris twice in Scotland Yard.

Brandon, Chris, Michael, Jim, Dave, and Karen played several rounds of Coup with Chris winning two and Dave and Michael each one.

Brandon, Chris, Dave, and Karen finished off with Robo Rally with Dave winning.
